Adebayo: "We're growing as a group"

21 February 2020

Walsall striker Elijah Adebayo feels the group are growing after a positive run of results in recent weeks.

The 21-year-old has played as the Saddlers have picked up two wins and a draw from their last three matches, with his performance against Northampton Town catching the eye.

Adebayo says spirits are high in the camp and feels the team are making good progress,” he said.

"We've been training hard and everyone's been putting in the work.

"We can definitely see that we're making progression.

"They're good results, we'd have taken seven points from nine definitely at the start of the week.

"We're growing as a group and the spirit in the camp is great.

"Everyone gets on, so it's about pushing each other to keep going on this final push for the rest of the season.”

Adebayo has learnt a lot since he arrived at the Banks’s back in the summer.

He has taken on board advice passed on to him from the senior members of the squad and is seeing the benefits of having a good core of experienced players around him.

"We have great pros, great senior pros to go and ask anything and they'll give you the best advice.

"They've been through it; they've gone through the stages we're going through right now.

"They know how to deal with things the best way possible, the experienced lads are great to have around.”
