Walsall defender George Nurse was delighted to make his return from injury against Scunthorpe United on Tuesday night.
The defender played 74 minutes on his comeback having not featured since October 31st.
Nurse is now keen to kick on, get back to his best and put a tough couple of months behind him.
"It's been a frustrating road for me missing all those games but it's great to be back playing,” Nurse said.
"I feel a little bit sluggish but it will come with more training.
“I'm delighted to be back.
"I've only really had this week to train but I have to be ready to step up and I think I did OK.
"I could have done a bit better but I'm happy to be back in the team.”
The Saddlers will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Scunthorpe when they host Carlisle United on Saturday.
Nurse has fond memories of facing Carlisle having netted his first professional goal against them for Newport County last season and he is hoping he can repeat himself on Saturday.
"I came on as a sub at the end of the game last year with Newport and managed to score the winner so hopefully I can get one on Saturday as well,” Nurse commented.
"I like to get forward and be up and around the pitch.
"If I can have a shot or set one up for the boys, I like to do that.
"It's definitely going to be a difficult game, they're doing well this season.
"We need to start the game sharp and try and stop them from doing well.”
