Walsall defender Cameron Norman was proud to make his 50th appearance for the club against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday and is now keen to build on his achievement.
Norman marked his 50th game with a solid performance and a 3-1 victory at Prenton Park.
The 25-year-old is looking to use that achievement as a platform to build on and he expressed his delight at reaching the milestone.
“It was good to play my 50th game,” he said.
“I didn’t realise myself until after the game when I saw a few things on Twitter. It is a really good achievement in my career.
“When you'd been inside of that non-league set up and then fast forward a couple of seasons you’d be making your 50th appearance for a league club, it is always a good achievement but also a good milestone to think to myself to kick on and go and get the next 50. It’s something to be proud of but something to build on as well.
“Going into training every day and going into games with the boys when they’re your mates and you want to do well with them works well for you on the pitch as well as off the pitch. I feel settled and I really want to achieve something with the boys that we’ve got here.”
The Saddlers host Bolton Wanderers on Saturday as they look to build on their victory against Tranmere.
Norman feels the Saddlers need to be at the top of their game to get a result but insists the players are in a confident mood heading into the match.
“I think we go into every game with a lot of confidence and I think Saturday is no different,” he commented.
“It’s going to be a tough test. They’ve recently picked up from the start of the season and we know that anyone you play in this league, regardless of form or league position, is a tough game so we’ve got to be right on our game to get a result.”
