Walsall Football Club presented a cheque of £25,000 to Walsall Manor Hospital at last Saturday’s match against Cheltenham Town to represent the total amount of donations the club has made through the Goalden Gate Lottery.
The lottery has been running for 15 years with proceeds going on to help our Youth Development as well as Walsall Manor Hospital.
Over this period we have raised a fantastic £25,000 for the Manor Hospital.
The hospital is using donations towards their fundraising for the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust’s Stroke Rehabilitation Unit.
Fundraising Manager at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, Georgie Westley, said: “We really appreciate the donations that have come our way from the Goalden Gate Lottery over the years and want to let Walsall FC supporters know that the money they have raised really does make a difference to our patients in both the hospital and community.
“Last year we were delighted when a couple of the players came to the official opening of our new sensory room at the Child Development Centre in Shelfield as Goalden Gate donations had been put towards this appeal and they could see for themselves how invaluable this had been in helping us reach our fundraising target.”
It costs just £1 per week and a top of £1,000 is won every week.
