Aldridge School win Walsall EFL Girls Cup

18 November 2019

Congratulations to the team from Aldridge School, who were the winners of Walsall’s Girls Cup competition at the Banks’s Stadium last week.

The girls will now go on to represent Walsall FC in the area finals in January.

Winners from each area will then head to regional finals, and regional victors will then play in the Grand Final at Wembley Stadium in April.

The EFL Girls Cup, sponsored by Utilita Energy, is a national six-a-side competition for U13s schoolgirls - with over 6000 girls involved through the EFL’s 72 Community Trusts each year.

Charlotte Brown, Female Football Development Officer at Walsall FC Community Programme, said: “It was a great to see all of the girls take part and congratulations to our winners.

“The Girls Cup is a brilliant opportunity for them to play football against tough opposition with even a trip to Wembley on the cards for the best in the country.”
