Scarr pleased with how his partnership with Guthrie is developing

26 March 2019

Defender Dan Scarr is pleased with how his centre-back partnership with Jon Guthrie is developing.

The 24-year-old has made 10 appearances since joining on a permanent deal from Birmingham City in January, scoring a single goal in the 2-0 home win over Fleetwood Town.

Although things didn’t start as smoothly as he would have liked, Scarr believes the pair are now forming a good understanding.

“It’s becoming a good partnership,” said Scarr. “It took us a couple of games to understand where each other would be but we are getting there.

“Me coming in from a different league and not playing, it was going to take me a few games to get going but I feel like I am up to speed now.

“We had a couple of changes at the start as well but I think now we have cemented it we are working really well together.

“I think as a back four we are working well together and it’s good having somebody like Dobbo in front of us as well.

“We are all working that much harder in training and on the pitch. We all know where each other is going to be. If one goes out, we cover.

“We have got it as a unit at the moment, it’s just a shame the results haven’t been showing our work ethic.

“Every game is crucial now. We need to tackle everyone with the same intensity we have shown over the last three or four games.

“If we put the work in we will get what we deserve.”
