Dobson: Saddlers deserved more than a point against Burton

4 March 2019

Midfielder George Dobson says the team were pleased with their performance on Saturday afternoon but were also frustrated not to have taken all three points.

The Saddlers kept their seventh clean sheet of the season against Burton in the 0-0 draw but Dobson felt as though the second half performance warranted more than the point they picked up.

“I would say we deserved the three points, especially based on the second half,” said Dobson.

“In the first-half it was a big cagey, both teams were working each other out. In the second half we had some good chances, Josh with the header which was unlucky.

“I would say on the balance of play and the pressure in the second half we should have nicked it.

“However, it is a point gained and it’s now four points in the last two games and we are now looking forward.

“In the second half I don’t remember Burton having a clear cut chance which is a massive positive for us.

“Sometimes you keep clean sheets when you don’t deserve to but I thought we thoroughly deserved to keep the clean sheet against Burton.

“With the amount of goals we have conceded recently, it is a massive confidence boost and hopefully we can build on that next weekend against Fleetwood with another clean sheet.

“Josh’s chance was a clear-cut chance for us but Luke has had a good effort from the edge of the box where the keeper has made a good save.

“We did create chances but it didn’t quite fall for us unfortunately. It is frustrating because we have come away from home and we are leaving thinking that we should have had all three points.”
