Cameron Pring arrives on loan

3 July 2019

Walsall FC are delighted to announce the signing of left-back Cameron Pring on a season-long loan from Championship side Bristol City.

The 21-year-old made 15 appearances in League Two last season during loan spells with Newport County and hometown club Cheltenham Town.

The full-back, who was a youth team player at Cheltenham before moving to Ashton Gate, has also enjoyed stints with Merthyr Town, Aldershot Town and Hereford.

“I’m buzzing to be here,” Pring told iFollow Walsall. “It is a big club and I am really looking forward to getting going now that I am here.

“I will be looking to pick up as many minutes as possible and keep my spot in the team – that’s the biggest goal of mine.

“I am quick and like to get up and down the wing, attacking rather than just defending and sitting back. I would say I am a powerful presence in the team as well.

“Game time is crucial at this stage of your career. I’m 21 so it’s the perfect time to head out on loan again.

“Coming in early during pre-season allows me plenty of time to get to know everyone and hopefully I can do well here.”

Manager Darrell Clarke added: “Cameron is a lad I’ve known quite a bit about for a while. He’s a Bristol City boy so when I was working at Rovers, I knew a lot about the youngsters down there.

“He’s had a couple of loans already at this level and I’ve seen the boy grow over the last couple of years.

“He’s robust, can win headers and is certainly going to add a bit of quality in the left-back area.”
