Parker joins Rushall Olympic on loan

1 January 2019

Walsall FC can confirm that 19-year-old striker Dylan Parker has joined Rushall Olympic on loan until the end of the season.

The teenager has featured three times for the first team this season, once in the Carabao Cup and twice in the Checkatrade Trophy, but is yet to make his league bow.

The youngster signed his first professional contract with the Saddlers in July 2018, having joined the club from FC Startford the previous October.

Scored twice on his Youth Team debut, he plundered 11 goals in 20 appearances for the Under-18s last season and also netted one in two outings for the Development Squad.

Following the move, an excited Parker admitted he couldn't wait to get going.

“I was at home and the manager called to say that he had a loan move lined up for me,” said Parker.

“I was buzzing when he told me because I can’t wait to get going.

“The loan move will be massive for my development. I don’t expect to be starting in the first team at Walsall so it’s important I get out on loan and get some game time and keep picking up more minutes.

“I’ve had really positive conversations with Rushall ahead of the move and I will go there looking to add goals to the team.

“I’m going there to improve my game and hopefully add something to their squad as well.”
