Manager Dean Keates and winger Matt Jarvis have both praised the support the team received on Saturday afternoon during a disappointing defeat to Bolton Wanderers.
The team were backed by nearly 1,500 fans at the University of Bolton stadium at the weekend and both Keates and Jarvis have labelled the backing they received as ‘fantastic’ and ‘outstanding’.
Throughout the game, the Saddlers faithful were in full voice and despite the result, backed the team until the very last minute of the game.
After the game, the pair were keen to thank the fans for their support and Keates is hoping that the fantastic support continues for the rest of the season.
“The fans were brilliant,” said Jarvis. “You could hear them all game, I think they were outstanding.
“They really got behind the team, even towards the end of the game they were still singing and backing us.
“They were fantastic.”
Keates went on to add: “They were outstanding.
“The fans were absolutely outstanding and they were right behind the players and that is what we are going to need now for the rest of the season.
“We always travel well and we need that for every game from now until the end of the season.
“We are going into a period of games where we are playing teams who are below us at the moment.
“We need that vocal support and encouragement behind us.”
