Walsall FC can today confirm that winger Josh Ginnelly has completed a move to Championship side Preston North End for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old featured 25 times for Dean Keates’ side in the first half of the season, having signed a one-year contract following his release by Burnley in the summer.
The winger, whose contract was due to expire in June 2019, scored four goals in all competitions, including a memorable strike against Sunderland in our 2-2 draw at the Banks’s Stadium in November.
Following the departure of Ginnelly, manager Dean Keates said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for Josh and one we didn’t want to get in the way of. The deal was good for both clubs and we wish Josh all the best.”
The club would like to place on record its thanks to Josh for his efforts during his second spell here, following a successful loan in 2016, and would like to wish him all the best in his new challenge.
