Guthrie: actions speak louder than words

2 April 2019

Defender Jon Guthrie says the Saddlers must focus on themselves rather than the teams around them.

The Saddlers currently sit in 21st place on 42 points but are only in the relegation zone on goal difference.

And Guthrie knows now is the time where actions speak louder than words.

“We have to focus on ourselves,” said the 26-year-old.

“We know what we have got to do to get out of the relegation zone and stay out of it.

“If we get the wins that we have set ourselves the target of, we know we will be alright in the end.

“It’s now time to stop talking and get out and show it on the pitch.

“We have got a six-game season now. We all know what we have to do to stay in the league.

“Every game is absolutely massive from now on and we have to go into every one looking for the win.

“We are about to face a lot of teams in and around us. We know what we have to do and it’s down to us players to do it now.”
