Peters loving life on loan

6 September 2018

Cameron Peters is loving life on loan. The young striker has scored six goals in three league starts for Bromsgrove Sporting since joining them last month.

The 19 year-old, who signed his first professional contract with the club in May 2017, is relishing the opportunity of gaining minutes under his belt.

“I’m really enjoying myself here at Bromsgrove Sporting”, said Peters.

“When I was told I was joining them on loan, it was great news for me as I want to be playing every week, gaining minutes on the pitch and playing men’s football.

“I feel like I have settled into the club pretty well. Everybody from the management staff right through to the players and fans have made me feel very welcome here.”

Peters, who is on loan at Bromsgrove until mid-November, has reunited with Will Shorrock, a player who was on the Saddlers’ books until he was released in the summer.

“It feels great to be back with Will as we are very good mates.

"From playing with him in the youth team at Walsall to playing at professional level, I feel we link up well when we are playing together as we know each other’s game very well.”

The young hitman is hoping his time at Bromsgrove will help him gain more opportunities with the Walsall first-team in the near future.

“Of course, I want to keep doing well here to stay in Dean Keates’ thoughts.

"However, the main objective for me at the moment is to do my best for Bromsgrove and to help the team as much as possible.

"I’m not the type who likes to set targets; I always take each game as it comes but I am hoping to play as much as I can and score as many goals as possible as that’s what I’m here to do.

“I have learned a lot already since being here; the standard of football in this league has similarities to League One.

"The majority of teams I have played against so far want to play football, which is a positive for me.

"If I can perform to a good standard consistently week in, week out for Bromsgrove, I feel confident I can translate these performances when pulling the Walsall shirt on, should I be given the opportunity.”
