Boss Dean Keates says everyone is pulling in the right direction following the Saddlers' strong start to the season.
The Saddlers sit inside the League One play-off positions with just one defeat in nine league games, and Keates knows the buoyant team spirit has been a key factor behind our success.
After the disappointment of losing to Doncaster, Keates was pleased with the response from the players as the Saddlers secured a well-deserved win at Oxford.
“We are pleased with the start we have made,” he said. “We were disappointed to lose against Doncaster.
“But it happened and we are looking on the positive side - we will take the reaction we got.
“Team spirit is key to everything. I have been in changing rooms when not too much is expected of you.
“But you can always go against the odds. So long as the changing room is healthy, strong and everyone is pulling in the same direction, you have got an opportunity to achieve something.
“I’ve said from day one we are always going to be unfancied. But we have got to have belief and confidence in each other.
“It needed the players to come in and buy into what me and my staff are trying to do and they have done that.
“Training has been bright, it’s been sharp. I think the weather as well has kept a smile on everyone’s face.
“It’s been a good week and we’re looking forward to Accrington. It’s going to be a difficult game.”
