Striker Morgan Ferrier feels the togetherness within the squad is helping the Saddlers pick up results.
The Saddlers notched their fifth league win of the season against Oxford United, with Ferrier and Zeli Ismail getting the goals, and the summer signing believes everyone is working for each other.
“If someone is out of position, there are always three of four players looking to get back and help out," he said.
“We work hard for each other and that will hold us in good stead.
“You saw against Oxford, because of the conditions, it wasn’t the easiest of games to play football.
"But if you are all working for each other, and working for the gaffer, the club and the fans, ultimately more results will go in your favour.
“That is what the gaffer has installed is us. He tells us to work hard every day and then we will get our rewards.”
And the striker, who now has four goals to his name, including two in his last two starts, believes the team are thriving off being classed as underdogs for every game they go into.
“I don’t look further than next week and the gaffer doesn’t allow us to.
“We know everywhere we go we are going to be looked upon as underdogs and we like that and we run with it.
“I feel like every day we have to go in and have that mentality.
“People are going to write us off but we have to know what we can do as a team and a club.
“It’s a long old season and we are only nine games in.”
