Davies pleased as Saddlers return to winning ways

27 October 2018

Assistant Manager Andy Davies was pleased to see his side return to winning ways as the Saddlers squeezed past Wycombe 3-2 in an entertaining game.

Speaking afterwards, Davies said the most important thing was the three points.

“For us the most important thing was to get the result and to get the win,” said Davies.

“After two away games and the start of a run of home games, the win was the most important thing.

“When we got ourselves in front at 2-0, I thought we could go again.

“Andy Cook has a chance where he goes one-on-one and he misses it and then they go and score down the other end and you’re thinking it could spur them on.

“It didn’t and we went and got the third.

“At the end, there are things we can certainly work on but, like I’ve said, the most important thing was to get the three points and the victory today.”
