Keates hopeful of cup progression

30 November 2018

Dean Keates is hoping his side will be in the next round of the FA Cup come 5pm tomorrow, with the ‘big boys’ coming into the competition in round three.

The Saddlers host Sunderland for the second successive weekend and Keates knows the atmosphere will be one his players can feed off, just like they did in last weekend’s entertaining 2-2 draw.

“It’s the next game of football so it becomes the most important one for us,” said Keates.

“It’s the FA Cup and we all know what happens in the next round, the big boys come in.

“It is something we want the football club to be a part of.

“We want to win the match - it doesn’t matter whether it is in the league or the FA Cup.

“We are going out there to get the win and hopefully we will be in the hat for the next round of the draw.

“The atmosphere will be great again, as it was last weekend.

"Hopefully our players will use it and it’ll breath confidence into them and all being well, we can be in the third-round draw.”
