Kory Roberts could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a serious-looking injury in the Saddlers’ pre-season friendly defeat to Stoke.
The young defender went down holding his leg after colliding with Ryan Sweeney and required oxygen before leaving the field on a stretcher.
“He’s gone to the hospital and the early signs from the physio, and from what their staff have said, it doesn’t look great,” boss Dean Keates said.
“We think his fibula and tibia have both been broken and he’s gone to A&E now.
“If that’s the case, if we see him again this season it’ll be full credit to the medical department and the lad.
“We’ll have to see what the initial X-Ray and report come back as.”
