Club Commits to Enhancing its Communication Channels

8 February 2018

In recent weeks the Club has made an ongoing commitment to enhance its communication channels with Supporters over the next 12 months.

Currently, we hold two Fans Focus Meetings per season and a Supporter Working Party Meeting bi-monthly (six per year). The Focus Meetings are open for all Supporters to attend whilst the Working Party consists of Club Directors, Walsall Football Supporters Trust Board Members and The Saddlers Club (Walsall Football Supporters Club) Trustees.

In addition to this, the Club currently communicates with Fans through the Official Website, the Official Facebook Page and our Official Twitter Site.

Moving forward the Club intends to increase the number of Supporter Working Party Meetings to once a month and publish formal minutes concerning all matters discussed. All supporters, through their Representatives on the Working Party, will be encouraged to put their questions direct to the Board at these meetings, as has always been the case.

The first meeting has already taken place (last Monday, 5 February 2018) and minutes of the meeting have been published.

In addition to this, we are looking to resurrect the incredibly popular Saddlers’TV (through our own media platforms) to give supporters an insight into the internal workings of the Club across all departments. Guests have previously included Players and the Team Manager all the way through to the Directors and we are sure the return of Saddlers TV will be very welcome by all.

As part of the relaunch of Saddlers TV, Supporters will be invited once a quarter to submit questions to the Board as part of a Q & A session. The first session will take place in March and will be aired on Saddlers TV where Club Chief Executive Stefan Gamble and Club Secretary Daniel Mole will be in the hot seat to answer fan questions.

Following a very positive meeting with Supporters, the Club has also made a commitment to publish a history of the move from Fellows Park to the Banks’s Stadium (formerly Bescot Stadium at the time) and hope to make this available on the Official Website in the near future.

For more routine day-to-day queries, current Marketing Manager Daniel Clarke has recently stepped into the role of Supporter Liaison Officer and he will be happy to assist fans as required. Dan’s contact details are daniel.clarke@walsallfc.co.uk.
