Saddlers sign Morgan Ferrier on two-year deal

3 August 2018

Walsall Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of striker Morgan Ferrier from Boreham Wood for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old helped the Wood reach the 2018 National League play-off final, scoring seven goals in 16 appearances after re-signing from Dagenham & Redbridge for a club-record fee in February.

He has signed a two-year deal with the Saddlers, with a further year's option in the club's favour.

“I’m delighted to bring Morgan to the club,” said Saddlers manager Dean Keates.

“He’s somebody I’ve always held in high regard.

“He’s hungry, determined and powerful. He’s relentless with his work rate and wants to play on the shoulder. He’ll offer something different up front.

“He’s at the right age and has had a proper football upbringing. He’s scored goals in non-league and has a great goal ratio.

“He’ll be a very good signing for us and the fans will enjoy watching him play.”

A former Arsenal trainee, the powerful forward had successful spells with Bishop’s Stortford and Hemel Hempstead before joining Boreham Wood in August 2016.

He finished as the club’s 11-goal top scorer in his first season at Meadow Park but left the following summer for Dagenham, where he plundered eight league goals in 27 starts.

Returning to Wood in February, Ferrier notched a further seven times to take his 2017/18 season tally to 15 and fire the Hertfordshire club to a commendable fourth-place finish.
