Ahead of today's match against Gillingham, Joshua Bunting takes a look at a previous meeting between the two sides...
This game took place on Monday 21st April 2014 at the Banks's Stadium.
Chances were few and far between in the first half, the best chance falling for the visitors as defender Leon Legge headed over a Jake Hessenthaler delivery in the 32nd minute.
Walsall dominated possession, but it was not until the 45th minute that they managed to threaten the visitors' goal.
Milan Lalkovic crossed to the far post where Craig Westcarr headed straight at Gills' keeper Stuart Nelson.
The game livened up in the second half and the Saddlers took the lead when Stuart Nelson did well to block a fierce drive from Craig Westcarr but Febian Brandy followed up to drive the rebound home for his fourth goal for the club.
The best chances continued to belong to Walsall. Westcarr smashed a shot against the post after turning and firing towards goal from 25 yards. Sam Mantom also bent a shot just wide with 15 minutes left.
However, with time running out, the Gills equalised when Adebayo Akinfenwa teed up Cody McDonald, who fired past Richard O'Donnell for his 16th goal of that season.
Miklan Lalkovic had a great chance to win it for Walsall in the last minute but fired wide from Westcarr's pass.
Going into the game, the Gills hadn’t won at Walsall since 1992, failing to secure a victory in their previous 13 attempts.
Walsall really should have claimed victory, having 60% possession. Both sides had four shots on target, while the result secured the visitors' safety in League one for another season.
