Kinsella and Ismail meet Soccer Schools youngsters

10 August 2018

Liam Kinsella and Zeli Ismail surprised players on Walsall FC Community Programme’s summer Soccer Schools over the last few weeks.

The Saddlers stars met the children on the Banks’s Stadium course, and even joined in the afternoon’s matches with some of the group.

The Walsall players also signed autographs and posed for photos with the youngsters.

Ismail said: “I remember as a kid in the summer holidays, the last thing you want to do is sit at home, so it’s good for them to get out and play football.

“It’s nice to meet them. It puts a smile on my face as well as theirs.”

Liam Kinsella believes it is important for children to keep active during the school holidays.

He added: “I used to do them myself when I was about 8 or 9, so it’s always nice to give back and join in with the kids.

“In school they have PE once or twice a week, but in the holidays they can come to Soccer Schools for three full days a week, so I think it’s very enjoyable for them.”

Martin Manley, Manager for Engagement at Walsall FC Community Programme, said: “It’s great that the players can come down to Soccer Schools. We have a lot of Walsall fans here so it’s amazing for them to meet some of the pros.

“We have more courses running on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday until the end of August, and look forward to welcoming more Saddlers players to meet the children over the next few weeks”.

Soccer Schools are available for 6-14 year-old boys and girls, and run from 9am – 3pm. Prices start at £15 per day.
