Saddlers Players Visit Summer Soccer Schools

5 September 2017

Four Saddlers first-team players visited Walsall FC Community Programme’s Soccer Schools at the Banks’s Stadium over the summer.

Nicky Devlin, Reece Flanagan, Jon Guthrie and Kory Roberts each met the youngsters at the end of a Soccer School day.

The players helped to hand out prizes to competition winners, as well as medals to every participant.

They then signed autographs and posed for photos with the children.

Nicky Devlin said: “It’s great to come down and see the kids. As players it’s really enjoyable to come to community events like this and meet everyone.

“When you’re younger it’s just all about playing football. Getting the chance to come to these Soccer Schools in the holidays and play with your friends is brilliant for them.”

Martin Manley, Community Manager, added: “It’s fantastic to see the Walsall FC players getting involved with our activities and meeting the children.

“It’s great our Soccer Schools youngsters can speak to them, and can have positive sporting role models like Nicky, Reece, Jon and Kory to look up to.”

Walsall FCCP will be hosting more Soccer Schools during October school half-term. If you would like to book a place please email martin.manley@walsallfc.co.uk or visit www.walsallfccp.co.uk/schools for more information.
