Jon Whitney is pleased his side have a game so soon after the Gillingham defeat.
The Saddlers host Fleetwood tonight eager to respond to Saturday’s 1-0 Banks’s reverse.
Walsall dominated throughout, recording over 20 shots at goal, but were unable to find a way past Gills keeper Tomas Holy, who produced smart saves from Kieron Morris and Amadou Bakayoko.
And Whitney says his players are desperate to bounce back against the Cod Army this evening.
“I think it’s easier to bounce back after a performance like we had against Gillingham,” he said.
“The important thing is to keep that belief. I need those players even more buoyant than ever.
“If they do that we have a real chance to push on against Fleetwood.
“They’ve got to take belief from some of the passages of play against Gillingham – we just needed to convert our chances.”
