Disabled Supporters Association Meeting

3 November 2017

Disability Liaison Officer Laura Greenhouse met with supporters on Wednesday evening to discuss plans for a Disabled Supporters Association (DSA).

Laura was joined by Safety Officer Jim O’Grady, Disabled Supporters’ Steward Dave Gollins and representatives from Level Playing Field, Kieran Reynolds & Owain Davies.

Kieran began the meeting by explaining the benefits of having a DSA.

He stated that not only would a DSA improve the matchday experience for supporters, it would also raise awareness of disability and the obstacles disabled supporters face.

He also highlighted the social benefits of being part of such an organisation, which will be a supporter-led group.

The meeting saw supporters discuss setting up a DSA and concluded with volunteers putting their names forward to be part of a steering committee.

Level Playing Field are happy to answer any questions supporters may have with regard to setting up and running a DSA.

If interested in becoming involved with the steering committee, or would like any more information on the Disabled Supporters Association, please email disabled@walsallfc.co.uk.
