COMMUNITY | Gillingham game benefits local School Partners

17 November 2017

The Saturday’s fixture against Gillingham is our first Walsall FC School Partners game of the season, aiming to introduce the next generation of Saddlers supporters.

Thanks to efforts by Walsall FC Community Programme, just under 1000 extra fans will fill the Community Stand on Saturday.

These fans have received tickets through their Walsall FC Partner School at reduced prices for this one-off game.

School Partners games have now sold over 20,000 tickets since the initiative began in 2008, with almost £10,000 donated back to local schools.

Adam Davy, Community Director, said: “Our School Partners game has, once again, been well received by local schools in Walsall and we have raised almost £500 for the schools involved.

“It is always great to see our Community Stand full of young supporters and it is a credit to my staff for working hard to engage with the schools and arrange the tickets with them.”

Schools can get various benefits by partnering with the Walsall FC and the Community Programme.

Your school can get PE lessons run by our qualified coaches, as well as cashback on after school clubs held by our staff.

There is also first option on Walsall FC player appearances, and you will receive a signed football from the club.

Other benefits include ground tours, ticket offers on select Walsall fixtures and an invitation to a national school 6-a-side competition.

We hope all of the extra fans attending the match have an excellent afternoon at the Banks’s Stadium.
