ROBERTS AND SANGHA SIGN NEW CONTRACTS

22 March 2017

Youngsters tied down until 2019...

Promising youngsters Kory Roberts and Jordon Sangha have signed new contracts that will keep them at the club until at least 2019.

Centre-back Roberts has played twice for the Saddlers’ first-team this season, helping us keep a clean sheet on his debut at Oxford in December.

The 19-year-old has also captained the Development Squad to the Central League North West Division title, as well as the semi-finals of both the Birmingham and Walsall Senior Cups.

West Brom-born Sangha, another regular fixture for the Saddlers' second string, made his senior debut in our 1-0 Checkatrade Trophy victory at Leicester U21s in November.

The talented midfielder, also 19, enjoyed a one-month loan spell with National League North side Telford earlier this campaign, making two appearances for the non-league outfit.

He has been on Walsall's books since the age of eight and was named Apprentice of the Season in 2015/16.

Manager Jon Whitney commented: “Kory and Jordon are two bright prospects who represent the club in every way with their professional attitudes on and off the pitch.

"They have a fantastic work ethic coupled with real potential and ability. They have been a joy to work with.

“Kory has played for the first-team already and Jordon came on in the Checkatrade Trophy.

"I see them both as future first-team players – hence their new contracts.”
