Soccer Schools at the Banks's Stadium

6 June 2017

Walsall FC Community Programme hosted their Whitsun soccer schools last week at the Banks’s Stadium.

Courses ran from Tuesday to Friday, with around 150 attendances over the four days.

The soccer schools featured coaching sessions throughout the day, as well as penalty shoot-out and World Cup competitions for the youngsters.

Walsall FCCP also hosted their first Girls’ Soccer Schools, led by Female Football Development Officer Anna Wilcox, as well as Mini Kickers sessions for 3-5 year-olds.

Anna Wilcox said: “It’s fantastic to see so many girls joining us for our first Girls’ Soccer Schools.

“It was exciting to see a mixture of current footballers and those who were trying the game for the first time”

“These soccer schools will be back in the summer, and are a great addition to our existing Girls’ Evening Centres and girls-only Wildcats sessions.

Martin Manley, Community Manager, said: “The half-term soccer schools were a huge success and it was good to see so many children enjoying themselves.

“At Walsall FCCP we run these courses during every school holiday, and are now looking forward to those coming up this summer.

WFCCP soccer schools will be back this August. For more details please visit http://www.walsallfccp.co.uk/schools/.
