Walsall Football Club can confirm that Andreas Makris has agreed to join Cypriot First Division champions Apoel Nicosia for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance and the signing of all relevant paperwork, which at this stage is yet to be completed.
The Cypriot International arrived at the Banks’s Stadium last summer and went on to make 35 appearances during the 2016/17 campaign having arrived from Anorthosis Famagusta.
“The move has not quite worked out but everyone could see how hard Andreas worked for the side and we wish him all the best in the future,” explained manager Jon Whitney.
“He has been a pleasure to work with and hope that a return to his homeland will reinvigorate his club and international career.”
The club will be making no further comment at this stage.
