BREAKING: Chambers pens new deal

28 June 2017

Club captain Adam Chambers has today penned a new two-year deal here at the Banks’s Stadium.

The 36-year-old made 46 appearances for the Saddlers last season, all but three of which came in League One.

And now the experienced central midfielder, who has played a total of 284 matches for Walsall, has committed his long-term future to the club.

“We’re pleased to extend Adam’s contract for another two seasons,” said manager Jon Whitney.

“He has been a mainstay of our midfield for several years and his attitude, work ethic and fitness are an example to all of the other lads in the squad.

“It’s important to have Adam around as a role model for the youngsters. He’s an important part of the philosophy at the club.

“He’s disciplined, organised and resilient, and I’m sure he’ll push on over the course of the new season."

Sandwell-born Chambers added: “I’m delighted to be extending my stay at the club.

“I’m looking forward to be getting back into pre season.

"It’s always tough pre season, but you know that the hard work you put in now will stand you in good stead for the season to come.”
