Adam Chambers was on hand to cut the ribbon at InPower’s official opening of their new Sport and Community Hub in the heart of Walsall.

The Saddlers skipper was invited as a special guest at the event on Thursday evening and offered his support on behalf of the club.

Based on Frederick Street, the Hub will provide fitness classes, educational support and wellbeing activities for the local community.

InPower Academy also provides young people with activities and opportunities for upskilling, with access to relevant qualifications and courses.

“After meeting Daryl and Soloman from InPower, you instantly get the passion they have for their work,” said Chambers. “They’re making a real difference to young people in the local area and the new Hub will now give them a base to work from.

“The club pride ourselves on forging links with the local community and initiatives like this are deserving of everyone’s support.

“They have so many innovative ideas and you can’t underestimate the impact they will have on the people who will use this facility.

“I want to thank InPower for inviting me to the grand opening and I’ll be keeping a keen interest in their progress moving forward.”

Daryl Chambers, CEO of InPower Academy, commented: “I am delighted and proud that we are launching our new Sports & Community Hub in Walsall.

“Supporting the local area is a passion of mine and this facility will provide a space for local residents to come together and take part in different types of exercises.

“I have developed lots of different activities aimed at all age groups and abilities with an aim to help them develop as individuals through participation in sport.”

InPower Academy have used martial arts as an engagement and development tool for many years.

The programme provides Mixed Martial Arts skills to the participants over a 12-week period and gets them off the streets, offering them a productive place to go.

An expansion of their community services will include an introduction of Music Workshops, Healthy Eating Seminars, workshops centered around choice and Sports Leadership Qualifications. Also on offer will be fitness classes for all ages which includes Boxercise, Kettlebell Classes and Tai Chi to name a few.
