Walsall U18s picked up a deserved 2-1 victory in their second EFL Youth Alliance Cup Group 5 game against Wrexham at Ray Hall Lane.
The result takes The Saddlers to second in the group, with two games left to play at this stage.
Joe Cairns grabbed both goals, the first a fine finish after 14 minutes following a good move, cutting inside a defender before placing a left-footed shot past the keeper.
The 18-year-old notched a second on the hour mark, showing good feet to get away from his marker before pulling a neat shot into the far corner.
Wrexham grabbed a well-taken consolation, which goalkeeper Dominic Rogerson got a hand to, but the power on the shot took it past the keeper into the net.
SADDLERS: Rogerson, Little, Shergill, Walton, Fisher, Leivesley, Flanagan (Friel 65), Bates (Willis 70), Cairns, Parker, Mason (capt).
