Roadking Cafe are the latest business to advertise on Midpoint LED - our flagship advertisement screen on the M6/M5 link just outside the Banks’s Stadium.
The home of the “MEGGA” breakfast and one of the oldest truckstops in the UK, Roadking’s New Hollies site offers long-distance drivers hotel beds, food and drink in their restaurant and bar area.
Located just off junction 12 of the M6 (head towards Cannock and you will find New Hollies on your left), Roadking, which opens 24 hours in the week, was originally a smaller cafe offering bacon sandwiches to passing truckers before expanding to its current state - with space for more than 200 vehicles on their newly-refurbished car park.
And there are further refurbishments set to follow at the New Hollies site, which is around a 15-minute drive from the Banks’s, with plans for a fuel station now well underway.
“We used to be known as Greasy Lil’s but it has changed so much from then,” said manager Kelly Taylor-Johnson
“We’ve got the bar area and the rooms upstairs as well.
“We’re a popular truck stop - we have over a thousand (people) a day. In the lorry park we get around 216 wagons overnight.”
“We’re one of the most well known truck stops in the country,” said assistant manager Michelle Davies.
“The Midpoint sign is on the way through (towards us) so if any drivers see the sign and get a bit peckish, if they’re going past there all they have to do is come off at junction 12.
“We want to supply everything to them. With the planned fuel station, they can get everything at one stop.”
Roadking is also very popular with families, who can look forward to a traditional breakfast or choose from a varied menu that will be popular with adults and children alike.
As a Saddlers fan, you can be assured of a warm welcome!
