Walsall FC can today confirm that defender Matt Preston has left the club.
The 22 year-old centre-back progressed through the Saddlers' youth ranks, signing his first professional contract in 2013.
He went on to make 50 appearances for the club, scoring three goals.
Preston was offered a new two-year contract in May, which was rejected.
Talks remained ongoing throughout the summer but, as no agreement could be reached, the club and player have agreed to go their separate ways.
