As part of Walsall Football Club's ongoing commitment to player engagement, six Saddlers players will be our player ambassadors during this League One campaign.
All players in the first team squad support a high number of player visits through the season, co-ordinated by Walsall FC Community Programme and the PFA.
The PFA are strong supporters of community schemes up and down the country and work closely with clubs and players to use the power of football for good causes.
This season our player ambassadors are:
Amadou Bakayoko - Equality
Simeon Jackson - Health
Adam Chambers - Community
Joe Edwards - Sports Participation
Jordon Sangha - Social Inclusion
Mark Gillespie - Education
Walsall FC Community Programme works with local schools and projects to reach out to people in the local area.
Adam Chambers, Ambassador for Community, said: “It’s very important to stay close to the community and to give our support to local projects. It’s a big thing for us to be involved in.
“We’re lucky in what we do, so the least we can do is give back to the local community.
“You see the benefits it brings to young and old people so it’s very enjoyable to give your time, and try to help if you can.”
Paul Larvin, Community Manager for Education, said: “The ambassadors’ role will be to help promote the scheme and our key themes in the local community.
"The players are a big reason why Walsall Football Club is seen as a ‘community club’, and it’s great to have them supporting our work.”
