WHITNEY CHALLENGES SADDLERS TO GO THE REST OF THE SEASON UNBEATEN

17 April 2017

Saddlers host struggling Swindon this afternoon...

Jon Whitney has challenged his Saddlers team to go unbeaten until the end of the season.

The Saddlers are 14th heading into today's League One clash with relegation-threatened Swindon, having drawn the last two games - both 1-1.

And the boss wants his side to end the campaign strongly and secure a top-half finish.

"We are unbeaten in two and we have to try to stay unbeaten until the end of the season," said Whitney.

"We are three points off Peterborough and we are looking at 11th place which is still within reach and it is something we have to drive for.

"And I will see who the players are who really want to go that extra bit and not allow the season to just drift away. I want to see a reaction from my players."

Goalkeeper Neil Etheridge is unavailable after being ruled out for the season with a hamstring strain. Erhun Oztumer (ankle) is closing in on a return, while Reece Flanagan remains sidelined.
