Saddlers beaten by MK Dons...
Jon Whitney was disappointed to see his Saddlers team end the season with a heavy 4-1 home defeat by MK Dons.Stunning strikes from Robbie Muirhead and Ben Reeves gave the dominant Dons a deserved two-goal half-time lead.
Stuart O’Keefe added a fortuitous third before Erhun Oztumer pulled one back, only for Harvey Barnes to restore MK’s three-goal advantage seconds later.
The result means Walsall drop a place to 14th in League One.
“It was a disappointing way to end the season,” said Whitney.
“I was disappointed for the two young boys [Kory Roberts and Mitch Candlin] but I felt some of our experienced players could have helped them a bit more.
“There was a bit of an acceptance after the goal and our form over the last month hasn’t been good enough – we’ve been too inconsistent and before that we were really consistent.
“It’s highlighted that some areas aren’t good enough and I’ll have to make some big decisions."
