IT'S BACK! THE CROSSBAR CHALLENGE SPONSORED BY BANKS'S

26 October 2016

Our ever-popular crossbar-challenge competition, is making a welcome return this Saturday...

Three Saddlers fans will join a Sky Blues supporter on the pitch at half-time on Saturday as they attempt to win a host of beer-related prizes.

As always, the contestants will be representing the four stands of the Banks’s Stadium and we hope you will get behind your stand’s competitor.

We had no winner when the competition returned for the first time this season earlier this month against Shrewsbury Town, let’s hope for better fortune for Saturday’s contestants.

Peter Sturgess will represent the Tile Choice Stand; Matt Holden will do battle for the Community Stand; and the Homeserve Stand will be represented by Jon Taylor. The away fan will be selected on match-day from amongst those in the stand before kick-off.

And the good news is we are still on the look-out for contestants for future games!

Fans from the Tile Choice stand are clearly game for a laugh and we have a number of contestants lined up for forthcoming matches. But we do need contestants from both the Community Stand and the Homeserve Stand.

The competition is simple: if, with a single kick of the ball from the edge of the D, you hit the crossbar, then you win a load of beer, thanks to our good friends at Banks’s.

If two, three or four contestants hit the bar, then they will all win a prize – contestants are not in competition with each other.

All the contestants so far lined up are men – we know we have a good number of female supporters and we’d like to see some of these take part.

But whether you are young and old or male or female, we’d love you to take part – especially if you sit in the Community Stand or Homeserve Stand.

To register, simply send an email to our pitch-side announcer Gavin Drake at saddlers@gavindrake.co.uk – with your mobile number and the stand that you sit in. You’ll be contacted ahead of a forthcoming game.

Under-18s are welcome to take part but as the prize is beer, their parent or guardian will need to come on to the pitch with them to collect the prize should they win.
