INTERNATIONAL ROUND-UP

13 October 2016

Four Saddlers have been away on international duty...

A host of Saddlers have been away on international duty over the past fortnight.

Walsall’s club record signing Andreas Makris came on as a substitute in Cyprus’ 2-0 loss to Greece in their World Cup Group H qualifier.

The 20-year-old was also named in Cyprus’ starting XI for their next qualifier against Bosnia & Herzegovina, which also ended in a 2-0 reverse.

Striker Simeon Jackson earned his 49th cap for Canada in their international friendly against Morocco in Marrakesh.

The 29-year-old played 66 minutes but was unable to prevent his side from falling to a 4-0 defeat.

Talented youngster Maz Kouhyar also received his first senior call-up for Afghanistan but, sadly, a knee injury brought a premature end to his International experience.

Versatile midfielder Liam Kinsella was called up by the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21s for their match against faced Serbia, although he didn’t feature in the game.
