BAKAYOKO'S CHARITY T-SHIRTS ON SALE THIS FRIDAY!

11 October 2016

Young frontman raising money for the homeless...

Walsall striker Amadou Bakayoko has designed his own t-shirts to help raise money for the local homeless charity ‘The Big Feed’.

The t-shirts, which feature the slogan ‘Live, Love, Laugh’, have been produced in partnership with ‘In Touch With Walsall’ – a networking and marketing organisation which promotes local businesses.

From Friday, these t-shirts will go on sale in the Banks’s Stadium Club Shop and, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, there will be a signing session with Bakayoko and a few other first-team players.

Prices are £12 for adults and £10 for juniors, with all proceeds going to the charity, which helps homeless people throughout the region.

The project is also being backed by Walsall Community Church and Bakayoko is pleased to support a worthwhile cause.

“This all started with a phone call I had with my grandmother who still lives in Sierra Leone,” said Bakayoko.

“She was telling me about children over there who haven’t got a lot and how important it is to help those less fortunate than yourself.

“She initially put the thought into my head that I need to start giving something back, so I made a group with my friends, we got together and decided to make a t-shirt.

“I then spoke to Walsall FC and In Touch With Walsall and it progressed from there. We are putting 100 t-shirts into the Club Shop and all the money will go to The Big Feed.

“Hopefully they will all sell and then we will put some more in there. I want everyone to come along and buy one.”

Wayne Thomas, Walsall’s Commercial Manager, added: “Walsall Football Club have supported Amadou in helping him to promote and sell the t-shirts from our official Walsall FC Club Shop.

“We have created a clear partnership with The Big Feed, which is a homeless project in Walsall and a very worthy cause.

“This will be where all profits are donated to from the t-shirt sales and Amadou has been linked to the Big feed through In Touch With Walsall, one of our commercial partners.

“They have great links through their vast business catalogue and work hard within the community of Walsall. This showcases how the club, businesses and community can come together for the benefit of all.”
