Playmaker nominated for October accolade...
Walsall midfielder Erhun Oztumer has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month award for October.
The 25-year-old playmaker enjoyed a hugely-impressive month, scoring four goals in five league matches - including a spectacular brace in the 2-0 victory at Swindon.
The first of those – an audacious 40-yard lob (video below) – has been nominated for the October goal award.
With 17 minutes on the clock, Oztumer intercepted a loose pass, spotted Lawrence Vigouroux off his line and unleashed an exquisite left-footed effort which sailed over the keeper and into the net.
It was a truly wonderful piece of individualism from the creative schemer, who has been in sparkling form for the Saddlers this season.
And now it is up to YOU to help our ‘Wizard of Oz’ win the award!
All you need to do is visit skysports.com and cast your vote in the fan poll. Voting closes on Tuesday 15th November, with the winner announced three days later.
Bristol Rovers’ Matty Taylor and Peterborough’s Chris Forrester complete the three-man shortlist for League One.
