An exciting opportunity to join the Saddlers coaching staff...

Walsall Football Club is looking to recruit a self-motivated, committed, confident and knowledgeable individual to join the Club’s Academy in the position of Professional Development Phase Coach (“PDPC”) (16-18s).

Working within a multi-disciplinary department and reporting to the Academy Manager, the successful candidate will be required to implement the Club’s Football Philosophy and will play a fundamental role in the development and transition of the Club’s Academy scholars and young professionals into the Professional Development Phase and beyond.

In liaison with the Academy Manager the successful candidate will ensure individual learning objectives are set for each player through the implementation of action plans and the recording of individual player data on the Player Performance Management system (PMA), whilst helping them to develop strategies for coping with the demands of becoming a young professional footballer.

Alongside the management and coaching duties, the successful candidate will assist in the identification and recruitment of players within the Professional Development Phase.

Please note, as well as experience in playing and coaching at professional level, all applicants should also have the following attributes and qualifications:

 • UEFA A Licence (Essential)
• F.A Youth Award (Advanced)
• FA modules 1,2 and 3
• Licence Maintenance (where applicable)
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary environment
• Understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan
• Understanding of the academy audit process

The salary will reflect the candidate’s respective level of experience and qualification.
