CHAMBERS PENS NEW ONE-YEAR CONTRACT

9 May 2016

Captain commits his future to the club...

Walsall FC are delighted to announce that captain Adam Chambers has signed a new one-year contract, with a further year’s option.

The 35-year-old midfielder has missed only one game for the Saddlers this term and was yesterday crowned our Player and Players’ Player of the Season.

He has made 235 competitive appearances for Walsall since signing from Leyton Orient in July 2011 and captained us to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final last season.

“I’m very happy to have sorted my contract out now,” said Chambers, who is the most experienced member of the Saddlers’ first-team squad.

“Going into the play-offs, it means I can fully concentrate on that and look forward to some big games.

“I feel I’m still contributing and I’ve always said that as long as I feel I’m still contributing then I’ll still play.

“I’m very happy here and there are some really good people in and around the club.

"It’s been a pleasure to play for Walsall and I’ve made some really good friends during my time here.

“The environment that has been created over the last few years has made it a joy to work here.”
