A look back on our 2015/16 campaign...

The Saddlers recorded 11 points from a possible 18 in October to finish the month top of the tree.

After drawing 0-0 against a much-fancied Wigan team, we then beat surprise-package Burton 2-0 to go first – but slipped back to second after losing 2-1 against Chesterfield.

A professional 2-0 victory at Barnsley followed, before a topsy-turvy 4-4 thriller at Colchester.

The month ended with a Hallowe’en treat as Jason Demetriou’s stoppage-time winner secured a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over former leaders Gillingham which sent us top.

Walsall ended November without a manager following Dean Smith’s departure to Championship side Brentford.

Before his exit, the Saddlers enjoyed another satisfying month on the pitch, making progress in both league and cup.

Goals from George Evans and Anthony Forde sealed a 2-0 victory over Fleetwood in the FA Cup first round, while Tom Bradshaw netted in a 1-1 league draw with Sheffield United.

We then fell to a 2-1 defeat at Swindon, although we bounced back immediately with a 2-1 home success over play-off chasing Bradford, in what proved to be Smith’s final game in charge.
