City man extends loan spell at the Banks's...

WALSALL Football Club can today confirm that George Evans has extended his emergency loan spell from Manchester City for the maximum period to include our game against Fleetwood Town on the 26th January.

The 21-year olds initial loan agreement expired after Saturday’s FA Cup victory over Brentford but after enjoying an impressive two and a half months in the West Midlands, the talented midfielder has agreed to a prolonged spell with the club.

Evans has featured fifteen times for the Saddlers since first joining in mid October and has found the net on four occasions, most recently in a 2-0 win over Peterborough United.

Having played every minute of his loan spell under both Dean Smith and Sean O’Driscoll, Evans’s extension could see him feature a further four times with fixtures against Coventry City, Bury, Blackpool and Fleetwood Town coming up.

At the expiration of the emergency loan all parties will reassess the situation.
