Victories for Mansfield, Worcester and Stafford Rangers...
JAMES BAXENDALE – MANSFIELD TOWNMidfielder James Baxendale played an influential role as ten-man Mansfield beat Crawley 1-0 to move into the League Two play-off positions.
The 23-year-old, who also helped Adam Murray’s men record a 2-1 midweek win at Morecambe, was making his fifth loan appearance for the club.
Baxendale (pictured below, number 31) played 82 minutes of the League Two clash and went close to scoring with a fine curling shot which home keeper Callum Preston tipped over.
Chris Beardsley 60th-minute header put the Stags ahead, and despite Matt Green’s late dismissal, Mansfield held on to climb up to seventh.
AMADOU BAKAYOKO & JORDAN MURPHY – WORCESTER CITY
Forward Jordan Murphy provided an assist in Worcester’s 2-0 victory over promotion-chasing North Ferriby United in National League North.
City took a fifth-minute lead, when fellow Saddler Amadou Bakayoko flicked on for Murphy, who crossed low for Shaun Donnelan to score with a deflected strike.
Murphy was also involved in Worcester’s second goal midway through the first-half, as he jinked to the byline and delivered a deflected cross into the area.
Connor Gater flicked the ball forward and Donnelan was on hand to tap home from close range.
Murphy played the full 90 minutes, while Bakayoko (pictured below) played 87.
LEVI ROWLEY - STAFFORD RANGERS
Young striker Levi Rowley came on as a tenth-minute substitute in Stafford Rangers’ 1-0 victory at ten-man Lincoln United.
Ron Haseley netted the only goal after 20 minutes to give the Evo-Stik Division One South leaders a hard-fought win.
