Walsall travel to Burton tomorrow...
Head coach Sean O’Driscoll is hoping Walsall and Burton can produce an entertaining spectacle when the two promotion rivals clash tomorrow afternoon. The Saddlers are fourth in League One, six points behind Nigel Clough’s table-topping Brewers, who are targeting a second successive promotion.
And speaking ahead of tomorrow’s trip to the Pirelli Stadium, O’Driscoll has praised the consistency that both sides have shown throughout the season.
“Both sets of players have done terrific for their clubs,” said O’Driscoll.
“The level of performance of both teams, and that consistency of performance, is the reason why both teams have done so well.
“Burton have momentum, which is a massive thing in football. Getting promoted gives everyone a big lift and they’ve kept the same team.
“They’ve done extremely well in a very competitive division and they deserve a lot of credit for that.
“Walsall and Burton have used the fewest number of players of anyone in League One (21 and 22 respectively).
“When you look at that, that’s probably one of the reasons why both sides are up there.
“You just hope that it’s a game everyone will enjoy.”
O’Driscoll confirmed that centre-back James O’Connor and left-back Rico Henry could both be fit for tomorrow’s match.
