WALSALL Football Club are proud to have close links with Walsall College Football Academy.

The centre specialises in harnessing the talent of both male and female players who display above average ability.

Players selected to join the academy will work in an environment which aids progression and helps them achieve the highest possible level of performance.

It is a friendly and supportive environment with access to professional advice and high quality coaching staff.

For a number of years we have been involved with the Boys academy and this is the second year we have had a link with Walsall College Ladies Team.

After having a successful season last year - finishing top of the league - we have been promoted to ECFA West Midlands Women’s Category 2.

Walsall FC’s Community Director, Adam Davy, said: “The link with the college started quite a few years ago now and has gone from strength to strength over the years that we’ve worked with them.

“They’re based here at the football club for some of their training, and they also train at the fields at Aston University.

“We’ve done the Boys College Football Academy for a while, and to be able to work with them to develop a girls programme as well is fantastic.

“They’ve got a new sports centre which they’ve opened this year.

"And the next stage for the Academy is to work on some Futsal programmes, which is a growing sport in the UK."
