SADDLERS TO HOST FLEETWOOD TOWN IN FA CUP FIRST ROUND

26 October 2015

Dean Smith's men face fellow League One opposition...

THE Saddlers will host fellow League One side Fleetwood Town in the first round of the FA Cup.

The two sides were drawn together in the same round of the 2010/11 competition with the Saddlers progressing into the second round after a replay at the Banks's.

A Ruben Reid second half brace was enough to see the Saddlers through after a 1-1 draw at Highbury ten days earlier.

The two sides have met just four times in total, with the Saddlers enjoying an unbeaten record over the Lancashire side, recording three wins and a draw since our first meeting in November 2010.

More recently, a Tom Bradshaw strike five minutes from time ensured all three points remained in the West Midlands when the Cod Army came to town back in April.

Dean Smith will be hoping his side can go a step further than last year's first round exit to Shrewsbury Town, while recently appointed Fleetwood Manager Steven Pressley will want to put to bed the ghosts of Fleetwood's defeat to Cambridge United this time last year.

The tie will take place between the 6th and the 9th of November.

Ticket details will be made available to supporters via the website in the coming days.
