Ahead of the big kick-off with Chesterfield, we’re joined in the Stadium Suite by one of the most revered Walsall players in recent times.
Having come through the ranks as a youngster at Derby County, Darren Wrack joined the Saddlers in 1998 as an energetic 21-year old from Grimsby Town.
When Ray Graydon signed the all-action midfielder on a free-transfer, little did he know that Wrack would go on to spend a decade at the Bescot and play a crucial part in three promotion winning sides.
He featured in over 380 games for the Saddlers between 1998 and 2008, despite being sidelined for a year after suffering a broken leg in 2005. He enjoyed later spells with Kettering Town and Stafford Rangers before finally hanging up his boots in 2011.
